Hema Label Maker Review.

NL: Ik loop regelmatig de Hema binnen om te kijken of ik nog wat leuks zie, en het bovenstaande apparaat had ik dan ook al weer een tijdje op het oog. Het is een Label Maker. Bij Hema verkopen ze op het moment twee verschillende varianten, waarvan ik de kleine nam. Ik vond het formaat van de labels hierbij net wat mooier, en er was ook meer keuze wat betreft kleuren. Vandaag zal ik dit item dus voor jullie reviewen.

EN: Hema is a store in The Netherlands, but it also has a store in France, Germany and since a little while in London! When you don't live in one of these countries theres also the option to order something from their website. I really love the products from Hema and I like to sniff around the store. The label maker device is something which kept grabbing my attention, and now I thought I would just buy it, and of course also review it! You had two different sizes, but because I liked the small one better I went for that one.

NL: De Label Maker is eigenlijk een vrij klein apparaatje. Wat je in eerste instantie krijgt in deze set is de label maker met twee plaatjes voor lettertypes en één rolletje tape om de labels te maken. Ik vind het apparaatje gemakkelijk in de hand liggen doordat hij zo klein is. De lettertypes vind ik beide ook ontzettend leuk, al gaat mijn voorkeur uit naar het groene plaatje.

EN: The label maker is a quite small device. When you buy the Label Maker set you get the label maker, one roll of black tape to make the labels and two of the font circles. The device is really light and thin and it doesn't fall out of your hands quickly because it's so small and handy. The fonts are also really cute, but my preference goes to the green one.

NL: In het setje van de label maker zelf zit één rolletje tape, maar mocht deze nou op zijn of je hebt zin in een ander kleurtje is dat ook geen probleem. Ik kwam deze twee setjes met daarin elk vier rolletjes tape tegen. Eén set met vier neon kleuren als roze en oranje en één set met vier wat chiquere kleuren als goud, doorzichtig en zilver.

EN: In the standard label maker box you will only find one roll of tape, but of course this one will end sometime. If your roll of tape is empty or you simply want another colour you can buy these packages. In these two packages you get four new rolls of tape in different colors. There is one set with four neon colours like pink and orange and one set with four chic colours like gold, clear and silver.

NL: Het gebruiken van de label maker is ontzettend simpel. Je schuift het wieltje erin met het lettertype wat je wilt gebruiken, waarna je het stukje label erin schuift aan de zijkant. Voordat je begint met het maken van je woorden moet je een paar keer knippen met het apparaatje, zodra hij in het midden zit kan je beginnen met je letters.

Draai het wieltje tot de juiste letter, knip een keer en ga zo door. Er zit ook een figuurtje op elk wieltje en ik dacht in eerste instantie dat het een strikje was, maar dit is een schaartje. Als je deze indrukt snijd het apparaatje het stukje tape dus automatisch recht voor je af. Heel erg makkelijk, want zo hoef je niet te knippen en gaat alles dus helemaal recht. Wat ik wel mis is iets van een spatie, al kun je zelf het tape wel iets verder vooruit trekken om dat te doen. Wanneer je klaar bent met je woorden trek je het overgebleven rolletje tape eruit, en doordat je het schaartje hebt gebruikt kun je de gepersonaliseerde label meteen pakken.

EN: Using this label maker is really, really simple. You just put in the wheel with the font you like to use, and after that you slide the label in to the side. Before you start making the words, you have to cut a few times with the label maker, untill the tape is in the middle. If you don't do this you'll see that you won't get the first letters, because the tape has to be in the middle before the label maker can press the letters in.

Twist the wheel to the right letter, cut with the device and keep on going with this untill you have the words you like. There's also a little figure on each wheel. I thought that it was a bow, but it's a pair of scissors. If you choose this instead of the letters it will cut of your label. This way you don't have to cut it with actual scissors and you have the garuantee it's perfectly straight. The only thing I miss on this label maker is a space, but you can pull the tape out a little bit more to create some space between the letters. When you're ready with the words you pull the excess roll of tape out, and because you used the scissors button you can take the label out on the other side and use this wherever you want immediately.

NL: Ik heb beide lettertypes gebruikt, en ook meerdere kleurtjes tape om jullie wat voorbeelden te laten zien. Op bovenstaande foto heb ik met het groene wieltje de URL van mijn blog gemaakt. Wat mij wel opviel was dat de labels heel moeizaam plakken en ook snel loslaten. Dit kun je echter wel oplossen door er zelf wat meer lijm op te doen, maar op een harde achtergrond heb je er veel minder problemen mee.

EN: I used both of the fonts, and also a few different colours of tape to show you some examples. In the picture above I used the green font wheel to write the URL of my blog. I really like how this turned out, the only thing I liked less was that it's really difficult to put the labels in place. They don't stick that well, but you can fix this by putting some extra glue on it yourself. When you have a hard background it will go much easier, but on notebooks like in this picture you have to work it a little bit yourself.

NL: En het tweede wieltje heb ik natuurlijk ook uitgeprobeerd. Hier maakte ik ook nog gebruik van de extra tekens zoals het hartje, en heb ik de hoekjes van het stukje afgeknipt om het een wat speelser effect te geven. Ik vind ook deze ontzettend leuk, met name doordat je hier ook wat meer figuurtjes hebt. Wel vind ik het heel jammer dat dit wiel geen punt heeft, zo kun je bijvoorbeeld een URL van een site niet maken met dit wieltje.

Al met al ben ik wel erg tevreden met de label maker. Je moet hard drukken om de letter goed te krijgen en het plakken valt een beetje tegen, maar verder vind ik het resultaat erg leuk.

EN: Of course I also tried out the second font wheel. This time I also used the extra characters like the little heart, and I cutted of the edges of the tape to give it a more playfull look. I really like how this one turned out with the bright pink and the cute, white letters and characters. The characters make this wheel so cute, but what I do miss is a simple dot. Because it's not around in this wheel I can't make things like my URL.

Eventually I'm quit happy with the label maker. You have to press hard to punch in the letters well and the sticking doesn't work as well as I hoped it would, but after all of that I think the results are really cute.
