MAC Viva Glam Miley Lipstick & Lipglass.

You might have already noticed the amount of reviews about MAC products lately. I do have to say that MAC is my favourite make-up brand of all, and that is also the reason why I post a little more reviews about this brand compared to all of the others. Recently I bought two new MAC products again -how unexpected-, this time the new Viva Glam Lipstick & Lipglass. The products are in collaboration with Miley Cyrus, which screams for a striking colour! NL: Het is jullie vast al wel opgemerkt dat ik de laatste tijd weer regelmatig reviews over MAC producten plaats. MAC is tenslotte mijn favoriete merk en daardoor komen hier ook net wat meer reviews over dan van andere merken omdat ik hier meer van koop. Zo bestelde ik na een redelijk lange tijd ook weer eens iets uit de online shop, namelijk de nieuwe Viva Glam lipstick & lipglass. Dit keer in samenwerking met niemand minder dan Miley Cyrus, en daarbij hoort natuurlijk ook een opvallende kleur!

The Viva Glam products are always in collaboration with a famous artist, this time Miley Cyrus. The products might be Limited Edition, but they are available for half a year. If they are sold out for a little while they will be restocked soon enough! The products are available for the same prices as the regular lipsticks and lipglasses and the proceeds go to the MAC Aids Fund. So you won't only be buying yourself some beautiful lippies, you will also donate to charity! NL: De Viva Glam producten zijn altijd in samenwerking met een bekend persoon en dat is dit keer Miley Cyrus. De producten zijn dan wel Limited Edition, maar ze zijn gedurende 6 maand verkrijgbaar. Mochten ze dus even uitverkocht zijn hoef je niet te schrikken, ze worden namelijk snel genoeg weer aangevuld. De producten hebben dezelfde prijzen als alle andere MAC lipsticks & lipglasses, en de opbrengst hiervan gaat naar het MAC Aids Fonds.

I'm going to start of with the only product I wanted to buy at first; the lipstick. I wear lipstick every day -if not, there's something wrong with me that day-. In the autumn/winter my taste of lipstick is a little bit different than in the spring/summer, and with the prospect on the upcoming two seasons I thought Viva Glam Miley would be perfect. And if I think a lipstick will be perfect I can't help myself and I just buy it most of the time. NL: Ik begin met het product wat in eerste instantie als enigste op mijn wishlist stond. Ik draag namelijk iedere dag -als ik het niet doe voel ik me waarschijnlijk echt niet goed- lipstick. In de herfst/winter is mijn smaak weer net wat anders dan in de lente/zomer, en met de kijk daarop vond ik Viva Glam Miley een prachtige kleur voor de komende twee seizoenen.

Viva Glam Miley is because of the bright pink shade a spring/summer colour if you ask me, but I don't mind to wear it in the other two seasons as well. I guess the season time was just a pretext to buy it! But even though it's quite heavy and my skintone is very light I think it suits each other very well, something I'm really happy about. As long as I use a little bronzer, blush and highlighter to not all look white I think it looks great. NL: Viva Glam Miley is namelijk echt knalroze. Gedurfd zou je kunnen zeggen, al vind ik het zelf nog wel meevallen met hoe erg hij opvalt. Ik heb een hele bleke huid en vind hem zeker niet storend bij mij. Zolang ik maar een beetje bronzer, blush en highlighter draag komt hij gewoon mooi uit.

As a matter of fact I thought that the lipstick would be matte during the swatching, because that's how it appealed to me in the sleeve. Even though I'm not a fan of matte lipsticks I wouldn't mind this time -I would combinate it with the glass- but I think the finish eventually is really pretty and I love that they didn't choose for a matte finish. This way I can also use it without the lipglass! NL: Eigenlijk had ik de lipstick vrij matte verwacht bij het swatchen, want zo ziet hij er in de huls namelijk wel uit. Desondanks dat ik geen fan ben van matte kleuren had het me hier niet zoveel uitgemaakt -ik zou hem toch gaan dragen met de glass- maar ik vind de uiteindelijke finish erg mooi. Zo kan ik hem namelijk ook nog zonder glass dragen.

Even as the finish the colour itself also didn't disappoint me at all during the swatching. Viva Glam Miley is pigmented highly and looks perfect. It's the most gorgeous pink lipstick shade I own and have ever seen. That's my opinion ofcourse, but I love it! I almost love everything about the lipstick, the only disadvantage is the smearing. You will see it on your lips after eating or what so ever, but you will also see it on everything your lips have touched. Not always very pleasant! NL: Naast de finish stelde ook de kleur zelf mij zeker niet teleur tijdens het swatchen. Viva Glam Miley is ontzettend gepigmenteerd en ziet er prachtig uit. Het is voor mij echt de perfecte, zuurstokroze kleur. Eigenlijk bevalt bijna alles aan de lipstick mij, het enige nadeel is dat hij heel makkelijk afgeeft. Je blijft hem wel zien op je lippen, maar alles wat je verder met je lippen aanraakt zit er ook snel een beetje onder.

Leaving the lipglass. You might already know that I'm not a big fan of lipgloss in general, but after seeing a swatch of the Viva Glam Miley lipglass I couldn't resist it anymore. I came to the conclussion that it would look stunning in combination with the lipstick and so I ordered it! NL: En dan blijft de lipglass nog over. Jullie weten vast wel dat ik geen grote fan ben van lipgloss in het algemeen, maar toen ik een swatch zag van de Viva Glam Miley lipglass kon ik het niet weerstaan hem maar mee te bestellen.

The lipglass is just as the lipstick bright pink, and even though that it's a little more subtile and softer at the same time. Of course a lipgloss will give less pigmentation than a lipstick, but it changes the way Viva Glam Miley looked on its own and creates a whole new image; an image I love even more. NL: De lipglass is net als de lipstick vrij felroze, maar desondanks dat is hij toch een stukje subtieler en zachter. Nu geeft een lipgloss ook minder pigment dan een lipstick en speelt dat ook zeker mee, maar hij geeft Viva Glam Miley een heel ander beeld door hem hier enkel over aan te brengen.

The big amount of shimmers in the gloss was a bit frightening at first, I didn't know how this was going to look on my lips, but at the end it didn't scare me that much anymore. It's a really subtile shimmer and an extra touch of pink on the lips. You can aply it on the lips easily with the sponge brush, and just as with the lipstick I'm really excited and enthousiastic! NL: De vele shimmers in de gloss vond ik in de verpakking wel een beetje spannend, want ik wist natuurlijk niet hoe deze op mijn lippen gingen staan. Gelukkig valt het allemaal erg mee en geeft de gloss enkel een subtiele shimmer en een extra roze kleurtje. Hij is aan te brengen met een simpele sponsapplicator en ook hierover ben ik zeer tevreden.

And this is the way they look on my lips eventually. I think the brighteness isn’t that intense as I expected it to be, and that’s something I’m very happy with. My white skin in combination with the pink lipstick still gives quite a warm look and I can’t say anything else than that I’m really happy with both products. The only disadvantage is the smearing, otherwise than that I can’t and won’t complain! NL: En zo zien beide producten er uiteindelijk uit op mijn lippen. Ik vind het qua fel-heid nog wel meevallen en ondanks mijn witte huid vind ik het totaalplaatje nog vrij warm ogen. Ik ben er zeker tevreden over en kan beide ook daadwerkelijk aanraden!
